Zachary Bauer
Executive Director
Zachary Bauer has served as the Executive Director since July 2011. Previously, he served as the Director of Communications for the 2011 Pride celebration, Southwest Michigan’s largest LGBT celebration. As a fellow of the Kalamazoo Foundation’s Anti-Racism Fellowship, he has examined the ramifications of institutional racism and the intersectionality of basis. Through this work and with the help of Crossroads and E/RACE, he has laid the framework to make the Kalamazoo Gay Lesbian Resource Center a more inclusive environment for people of color. Zach is a graduate of Western Michigan University, where he studied Political Science and Economics. After serving in the United States Navy, he worked in the financial sector before moving into non-profit work.
Tracy Hall
Program Director
Tracy has been the Program Director at the Resource Center since August 2010. She is also an instructor in the Gender & Women’s Studies Program at Western Michigan University. In addition to teaching at WMU, she teaches political science and sociology courses at Kalamazoo Valley Community College. Tracy received her Master’s in Political Science and the primary focus of her Master’s thesis was examining the changing attitudes towards gays and lesbians over the last 30 years. Additionally, Tracy was the facilitator of the Gender Identity Training Program, a program offered by the Office of LBGT Student services at WMU. She’s participated and presented at numerous conferences, workshops, and trainings, all of which were focused on LGBT issues. Tracy’s proudest day was August 12, 2011, when she married her partner, Melissa, in Connecticut. In her spare time, she enjoys watching her favorite Detroit teams, the Tigers, the Red Wings, and the Lions with Melissa, and her dogs Boudicca and Sarah.
David Topping
Program Coordinator
David Topping is a recent graduate of Western Michigan University. He graduated in April 2011 with a degree in Creative Writing and Gender & Women Studies. While on campus, David worked with the campus LBGT group OUTspoken and the Office of LBGT Student Services. As program coordinator, David works to assist the KGLRC in building and strengthening the programming offered.
